Is it bullets, bombs and dead enemies that are the source of our  freedom?

One of the most common and well used pieces of North American war propaganda is that it is war and the tools of war, that we have to thank for our freedom. "Our soldiers are the heros of our freedom"!

The issue of basic political freedom in most of the western world is in reality fairly equal regardless of which side of the different wars countries have fought on, regardless the capacity of their armies and even regardless of if they have been involved in armed conflicts at all. Military might and freedom don't seem to have much in common.

The coupling between military might and freedom is more of a war propaganda neccesity than it is of reality and truth.

Any basic look at the realities of freedom, will find that it is the mindset of 'violence' as the solution that is the greatest threat to our freedom that exists. Violence creates hate … and it is hate that has proven to be so unmanageable (even for the military) and that is obviously so incompatible with freedom.

Even in so called Christian circles the virtue of violence to heritics is often touted. Jesus words in John 8:32 come to mind as they would suggest it to be”And ye shall know the truth, and bombs and bullets and dead enemies will make you free!”
