Mireille wanted to make a little bright spot in November .. so arranged a special evening with with some good friends -- this is about half the crowd!

Events Perhaps one of the most important events of this period has been Rebeckas commitment to,  and the begining of a new home and life together with Niklas Nordin  in Trollhättan the begining of October. This has been a common goal for Niklas and Rebecka for some time now -- and now  they both have jobs and they managed to get the contract for a beautiful appartment in central Trollhättan a couple of months ago -- They have been busy making plans for a life together since then, and as of the begining of October they have a home of their own.  One of the reasons they couldn't move in right away is that it was just in the process of a complete renovation.

There have been lots of practical adjustments in our home that have come along with Rebecka moving out (some major shuffles in the kids bedrooms etc. (Alfons took over her old room!)), but likely the toughest adjustment for us was the psycological hole it made in the seating plan arround our kitchen table -- and the fact of  one less kid to wake up in the morning, and one less kid to make sure got to bed in good time every night. Of course they still spend a fair bit of time here with us -- but its not the same now when they have their own place -- and our house is not their primary home.

In any case we are very proud of them, and it has been fun to notice how nice they keep their home in order -- especially when we remember the enormous wars we had just to get her bed made in the morning when she was going to school!! A couple of years ago we would hardly have believed we would ever feel it this way--- but we will have to admit that we do miss her like mad now if we don't see her for a few days  -

One of the more worrysom events of the fall was Ellens sickness --- Although they never did manage to put a real diagnos on what was wrong, she was REALLY sick for a few weeks and spent nearly a week of this time in the hospital with a very high fever and fairly unspecified pains in her body.  After dozens of tests of every kind, the doctor finally told us that if it had happened a few years ago we would have said that it was some kind of blood infection -- but even then that would only have meant that we couldn't put a better name on it  .. but at that time we weren't as apt to admit that we didn't really know!!! The important thing is that she did get better and although it seemed to take a long time, she seems to be feeling fine now.

Otherwise life seems to tick along as usual .. the kids keep busy with school (as well as their extra activities) Mireille is busy at her work .. I enjoy my activities with our different kids placed in our home by social services .. and also find my part time job (50%) caring for a shelter for the homeless in a near by town. My boss has just recently been appointed as national coordinator for a European Union project for counteracting poverty and social exclusion in the EU. It has been fun to help him prepare for his different trips to Brussels.

Next month Alfons, Nona and I are planing a trip to Canada .. should be lots to write about then!!
