Our trip to Ireland 2017-05
As some of you may know this trip to Ireland was a gift from my family and friends for my 70th birthday last summer. Was so wonderful -- thank you all again!

It is amazing how ones roots seem to inspire, the older one gets ... I am a bit ashamed of my self as I have lived in close proximity to Northern Ireland the last 44 years,
and it is first now that I have got my bottom out the the chair, to try and understand both my grandparents and my dads feeling of appreciation and respect for the culture, mindset
and for the country that they always felt part of.

Some of you will know that my grandparents emmigrated from Ireland (Carryduff area) the early 1900s -- Dad was born in Canada but returned to Ireland as a young man to live in Belfast a number of years until he returned to Canada during the second world war.
